After several months of persnickety heating and cooling at the Greene County Community Center, Durlam Electric will replace three of the four original (1999) HVAC units this week. The three units were delivered Wednesday. They’ll be hoisted up to the room after the existing units are disconnected and lowered.
The units will serve the office area, which has been without air conditioning, the aerobics room and the east meeting room (former preschool room). There were issues with the heat exchangers in all three units last winter.
Durlam Electric had the low bid at $18,650. The cost is paid for by PACE funds and the portion of the hotel/motel tax revenue earmarked for recreation.
